EFMP Coffee Connection. Family support meet and greet working group for events and support to connect with other families. The first Monday of every month 

   Accessing Higher Education Track:  23 - 24 Sep, 8 am - 4 pm. Held at the Education Center. Optional track for those transitioning out of the military.

  Career Expo/Job Fair:  10 Sep, 9 am - 2 pm. For service members separating/retiring, retirees, spouses, and DoD civilians.

   
Smooth Move Workshop. Helps member to be more prepared for PCS moves. 9 Sep, 9 to 11:30 am. Sign up by calling today!

   
Transition GPS. This 5-day workshop is designed to prepare those leaving the military with employment skills necessary to secure employment in the civilian sector. Attendees will learn the job process, understand vacancy announcements, resume preparation, the job interview, salary negotiation, and other valuable skills. The workshop will be held 14-18 Sep starting each morning at 8 am. Please call to sign up, seating is limited.

   Private Sector Resumé. Workshop tailored to private sector resumés for private businesses. This workshop held 17 Sep at 1 pm.

   Newcomer's Orientation (formerly Right Start). Inprocessing and newcomer orientation is held two Tuesdays per month at the Moody Field Club. This is a mandatory briefing for active duty personnel, and spouses are highly encouraged to attend. Right Start will be held  8 and 22 Sep at 7:30 am. 

   Key Spouse Initial Training.
24 Sep, 8:30 am - 3 pm. Required for all newly appointed Key Spouses. Must have an appointment letter from the unit Commander to register.

ey Spouse Mentorship Training. 26 Sep, 9 am - 2 pm. For senior leadership spouses appointed as mentors. Must have an appointment letter from the unit Commander.

    Family Connection Playgroup:  Combined New Parent Support Program and EFMP playgroup for families with children

    Capstone:  Step 3 in outprocessing with A&FRC for separation/retirement.  Verification of Career Readiness Standards.  Every Wednesday from 1300-1500, walk-in - first come, first served. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 Sep, 1 - 3 pm.

     Group Preseparation Counseling. Accomplished using the DD Form 2648 checklist which covers Employment Assistance, Veteran Benefits, Relocation, etc. This mandatory briefing is required for every member separating or retiring from the military and is a prerequisite for attending the TAP seminar. This class needs to be scheduled 90 days or more prior to your actual separation date. The dates for this workshop are Each Tues, from 9 - 11 am. Please call to reserve your seat.

    Ditching the Dorms. 10 Sep, 10 am. Held the 2nd Thurs of each month, this workshop is designed to prepare Airmen for the financial changes that occur when moving out of the dorms. Bring your most recent end of month LES and be ready to complete a personalized spending plan. Finishing the course meets the requirement for the Personalized Financial Management Review and Recommendation. Reserve your seat today!


   
Spouse Pre-deployment. 14 Sep, 10 am. For spouses whose sponsor is deploying or deployed to receive information about the different services available and to give them an opportunity to ask questions, meet staff and tour facility.

   Spouse Reintegration. 21 Sep, 10 - 11 am. Addresses the issues associated with adjusting to home life, reconnecting with family, adjusting to work and being separated from a deployment environment.

   Cancer Support Group. This support group will meet the 3rd Wed of each month, in the A&FRC with a goal to provide information, comfort, teach coping skills, help reduce anxiety and a place for people to share common concerns and receive emotional support.

  VA Benefits Advisor: 22 and 29 Sep, 8 am - 4 pm. Provides information and referral on VA Benefits. This is not an appointment to file for disability.

   Federal Resume. This workshop will teach you effective tips in writing a federal resume in order to procure a federal civilian position. 18 Sep, 9 -11 am. 

   Career Technical Training Track. 10 - 11 Sep, 8 am - 4 pm. Received assistance in identifying required credentials and investigating training options to pursue those qualifications.

   Military Caregivers Support Forum. Care for the care givers! Join us monthly as a Military Family Life Counselor provides support through training, peer networking and community support for those caring for military members, active or retired. 24 Sep, 10 - 11:30 am. at the Quiet Pines Golf Course.

   Senior Transition GPS.    Remote Tours. 9 Sep, 8:30 - 9 am. Mandatory for members PCSing to remote location. Family members are highly encouraged to attend.

    Need full time care? CDC has immediate openings for full time care in several age groups! If you are interested in enrolling your child, age 6 weeks through preschool come by the CDC, Bldg 210, for a tour and additional information.

   
Hourly Care.Looking for time to go to the gym, out to lunch with friends or have a medical appointment? Moody Child Development Center has hourly care spaces available! Reservations can be made two weeks in advance or same day.  The hourly care fee is $5 an hour per child. All registration paper work must filled out and returned to the program prior to your child attending to include a current immunization record as well as H1N1 and Influenza vaccine documentation. If your child has a special need, child's physician will need to complete a Special Needs Package to be approved by our program medical advisor. Care space is available for children 1-4 years of age, as well as 6-12 months.  Call to make reservations or to request a tour of the facility!

     Give Parents a Break.  Air Force Aid Society’s respite care program for youth ages 6 weeks to 4 years (CDC) and in kindergarten through age 12 (Youth Center) will be on Sat, 12 Sep, from 10 am to 4 pm. To be eligible to use the program your child must have a current referral and the required documentation must be filled and returned to the program prior to making reservations.  This documentation must also include a current immunization record.  As a reminder, for those children remaining in the program after 4 pm, an additional charge of $1/minute will be assessed as a late fee. The Air Force Aid Society is not responsible for paying these late fees; but rather it will be the direct responsibility of the parents.  If you incur a late fee charge, this fee must be paid prior to you being able to utilize the Given Parents A Break Program again.  For more information and to make reservations please call.
     Eligible families include those where a parent is feeling stress due to:
     -The military member being deployed, on an extended TDY or on a remote tour of duty
     -A family crisis or emergency such as serious illness of family member, death in the family, extended illness of family members, birth of a new baby, etc.

     Are You Living In Base Housing & Interested In Becoming An FCC Provider? The Moody AFB Family Child Care (FCC) Program is accepting applications for a new FCC Provider in base housing. This is an exciting opportunity to support the mission here at Moody, receive free childcare training, and bring extra income into your home. Child Care. If you are in need of full-time childcare, part-time, hourly, swings, mid-shift, evenings or weekend childcare, Family Child Care (FCC) is here to serve your need. Our Air Force Licensed and Affiliate providers can care for children with special needs, infants, and school age children. We even offer free Extended Child Care (ECC) for extended duty (EDC), returning from deployment (RHC), and primary UTA Reservist weekends (HCC). 

    Unlicensed Childcare.
Anyone who resides in base housing and cares for children for more than 10 hours per week or on a regular basis, whether paid or not, must be licensed by the Mission Support Group commander.  Individuals providing unlicensed care for children in their housing units risk losing the privilege of residing in base housing.

   24 Hour Fitness Center Acces. Active Duty is now able to work out any time of the day their hours allow!
What You Need to Know:
Open to ACTIVE DUTY ONLY
Do not work out alone; apply the Wingman concept.
Cameras will monitor facility during unmanned hours.
Access to workout areas and locker rooms only; all other areas will be locked.
Main Fitness Center only.
To Gain 24 Hour Access:
Register your CAC in the system at the Fitness Center.
Read and sign a statement of understanding.
Receive a briefing on emergency procedures and location of an emergency phone number.
CAC registration is available at Fitness Center's front desk.
Rules of Engagement:
Access card sharing is strictly PROHIBITED, will result in loss of privileges and could be punishable under the UCMJ.
Theft, defacement, intentional damage to government property, sexual assault, inappropriate sexual behavior, or any violation of facility rules will not be tolerated and subject to punishment under the UMCJ.
If you are unable to access the facility with your CAC (after registration), you must report the incident in person to Fitness Center during normal business hours.

Students in military families can get free personalized online tutoring and homework help from live experts 24/7 at www.tutor.com/military. With tutors available to help them any time, any day in all core K-12 subjects, military students of all skill levels can achieve success this school year. K-12 children in National Guard, Reserve and Active Duty Military families are eligible to receive one-to-one academic support 24/7 in math, science, English and more, regardless of the service member's branch or deployment status at NO COST through funding by the Department of Defense MWR Library Program, the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program and the Navy General Library Program.


     Federal Daily. The Federal Daily can now be accessed through the AF Portal!  Simply login to the Portal, place your cursor on Library at the top of the screen, and from the dropdown menu click on "Databases and Online Resources", then scroll down to Federal Daily.  This service provides access to FEND, weekly updates, coverage of legal cases, benefits options review, and general employment news.  It also provides access to the Federal Employees Almanac which is updated annually with the latest federal employment policies regarding pay, benefits, time off, transition rules, retirement plans such as CSRS, FERS and TSP, and and other resources.  

     
Learn a second language online.  FREE for Air Force! There are two online offerings for patrons to learn a foreign language or who have English as a second language: 
    TRANSPARENT LANGUAGES:  Self registration in Library; use anywhere, anytime; no deactivations, self paced; broad eligibility rules; for Quality of Life for USAF personnel only; not for training purposes; 80+ languages; can learn multiple languages; emphasizes quick development of basic memorized proficiency; language support for those with English as a Second Language.  
    MANGO:  Provides 36+ languages; requires your 14-digit Library ID number to enroll (can be acquired at the Circulation Desk in the Library - but not over the phone; each lesson covers all four key-language components - Vocabulary, Pronunciation, Grammar and Culture – while maximizing comprehension and retention; once enrolled, has online customer support.

     Monthly Newcomers Tour.  Join Force Support for a FREE Newcomers Tour on 27 Jan 2016 from 8 am to approximately 2:30 pm!     Youth Fishing Rodeo. Sat, 19 Sep. Join us for prizes, fishing and lots of fun! Day of registration 8 - 9 am, fishing 9 am - 12 pm. Lowndes County Bass Masters will be the judges for 3 age groups: 5 - 9, 10 - 14 and 15 - 18. 16 years and older must have a GA fishing license purchased prior to event. $5 per person, $3 boat launch fee if applicable. Prizes awarded for the most fish and biggest fish in each age group. Preregister by 5 Sep for a t-shirt and FREE park entry!    Karate Classes. YP and instructor Renshi Winston Prescott are offering Shito-Ryu karate classes! Classes are ongoing and have openings! Classes are Tues & Thurs: ages 4 to 5 from 4:30 - 5 pm and ages 6 to 12 form 5 - 5:50 pm . Ages 6 & Up are $70 for 7 sessions. Ages 4 - 5 are $30 for 4 sessions.

   Kid's Night Out.
Mom & Dad, want a night out but don't know what to do with the kids? Bring them to the Youth Center on Sat, 19 Sep from 5:30 - 10:30 pm for a fun-filled night with their friends. We'll have games, crafts, movies and dinner for all kids Kindergarten through 12 years old. Cost is $20 and don't forget money for movie snacks! Open Rec ends at 6 pm.

  
Give Parents a Break. Air Force Aid Society’s respite care program for youth ages 6 weeks to 4 years (CDC) and in kindergarten through age 12 (Youth Center) will be on Sat, 12 Sep, from 10 am to 4 pm. To be eligible to use the program your child must have a current referral and the required documentation must be filled and returned to the program prior to making reservations. This documentation must also include a current immunization record. As a reminder, for those children remaining in the program after 4 pm, an additional charge of $1/minute will be assessed as a late fee. The Air Force Aid Society is not responsible for paying these late fees; but rather it will be the direct responsibility of the parents. If you incur a late fee charge, this fee must be paid prior to you being able to utilize the Given Parents A Break Program again.    Family Skate Night. Come skate to your heart's content Fri, 25 Sep, from 6:30 to 9 pm! From 6:30 - 7:30 pm is Family Skate and from 7:30 - 9 pm is Youth Skate! We provide skates and rollerblades but feel free to bring your own. We also have helmets, elbow pads and knee pads if needed. We will have a skate contest, limbo, dancing, music and more! Cost is $5. Parents skate FREE! Snack bar available if you would like to send snack money with your child.

      Smart Girls. Every Mon in Sep at 5 pm. YP invites our SMART GIRLS to take part in age specific experiences that teach skills, mastery and resistance training concepts to enhance their physical and emotional health! These activities are designed to build character and instill values of integrity, self-discipline and mutual respect.

    Smart Girls Lock In! 4 Sep, 9 am - 5 Sep, 7 am. GIRLS ONLY! Ages 9 - 18 are invited for a night of fun at YP with guest speakers, dinner etiquette, manis & pedis, yoga and more! Call your best friend and get signed up!

    Babysitter's Course. Sat, 19 Sep, 10 am - 3 pm. Looking to earn some extra cash? Become a 4-H certified babysitter! Cost is $20 and includes all materials. Youth will receive in-depth training by an instructor. Youth who complete the course can have their name added to the Youth Center's Babysitter Roster. Open to all youth ages 11 and up. Please bring a sack lunch.

    Family Health & Fitness Expo. Mon, 28 Sep, 4 pm. Parents and youth are invited to learn about becoming a fitter family with FREE Zumba in the gym!

   Project Learn. Having trouble with your homework? Don't give up! YP has homework assistance every  school day from 3 to 5 pm. Get help with specific problems or general concepts, take practice tests and submit papers for feedback. Our trained staff is here for you!

   Torch Club.
Get involved with our charter small-group service club for boys and girls ages 11 - 13! Members learn to elect officers and work to implement activities in four areas: service to club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation. Join us every Tues at 5 pm!

   Teen Council.
Are you looking for an opportunity to showcase your leadership skills? Join us monthly as we tackle today's hot topics and have your voice heard! Make an impact, earn volunteer credits and meet new friends! Teen Council Calls: 10 Sep, 8 Oct, 12 Nov and 10 Dec at 5 pm!

   
Passport to Manhood (P2M). Th passage from boyhood to manhood is challenging, requiring adolescent males to understand and manage many issues and transitions. Passport to Manhood addresses critical issues that young men face during this time, such as ethics, decision making, wellness, fatherhood, employment and careers, cooperation and conflict, diversity, relationships and self-esteem.      Volunteers - Looking for a way to make an impact in a child's life?Volunteer your time to be a tutor for Power Hour at Moody Youth Programs! The program runs Mon to Thurs from 3:30 to 5 pm for ages 5-12 and 4 to 5 pm for ages 13 and up. Volunteer tutors are needed to assist youth with homework and study skills in reading, math, educational games, spelling, and more! All volunteers must complete a volunteer packet complete with a reference check and base Installation Records Check.
